I'm snapping a couple of pics in a side alley in Kings Cross with people walking right into the blindingly bright sun or straight into the pitch black shade. A couple of years ago I took similar photos right at this spot. It's important to have a camera with little to no shutter-lag. The Sony NEX 7 doesn't disappoint in this respect. All pics are taken with an equivalent 50mm lens (35mm F1.8). I underexposed by 2-3 stops to make sure that the faces are well exposed and did some minor shadow/contrast/colour correction in Aperture.
